Got up before the rest of the folks in the shelter and made some breakfast before heading out. The group was very disorganized: gear was everywhere and the picnic table covered in pots and pans and other cooking gadgets.

I attempted to protect the blister on my heel with bandages and tape. The first try did not work. After about two miles it became painful and I found that the tape had done more damage than good, leaving most of my heel rubbed raw. So I taped it differently and we'll see how that goes.

The rain had stopped but fog and mist covered everything so no views early on.

Had a bit of a scramble on the way down but after that easy walking through a few fields (with sheep!)

And some nice pine forest.

Towards then end I passed Benedict Pond, still a little chilly for a swim though.

And a view from "The Ledges" which was great. The weather really had changed for the best.

Got to my destination and decided to tent. It was buggy and the tent really needed to dry out. I did check out the shelter which was in amazing shape for being 86 years old! It was built by the CCC.

Today marks more than 500 miles complete!
