Cold start in the morning. It was just above freezing and my socks and shoes were still soaked from yesterday. Putting those on is the worst.
I hiked the rest of the way down from Pico Peak. After about 30-45 minutes I could feel my toes again. The trail passed through Giffords Woods State Park which, while small, seemed to have some nice car camping options. At the road I detoured to Killington Deli (not a religious group AFAIK) for coffee and a breakfast burrito.
Back on the trail I passed Thundering Brook Falls before climbing back up to the ridge. The only view was from a power line meadow but I could see ski slopes. Many of the mountains around here have skiing including three I hiked over.
At one point the trail went down a steep rock face that the trail maintainers decided was too much and gave us an easy out.
Arrived at my destination: The Lookout. It's privately owned but hikers are allowed to stay inside if it is unused. I was the only one there.
The view from up top was still stunning with the low clouds.
Today marks 700 miles of trail complete.
