The forecasted sun didn't come out in time for me to enjoy any of it while hiking. Took care of summiting Crocker Mountain, which didn't have much of clear view anyway.
After that it was all downhill to ME 27 where I had arranged a ride to Hostel of Maine (HoME) which was just down the road. HOP popped out of the woods just as I was getting picked up. He was heading into Stratton for a quick resupply.
At the hostel I had my customary, back-in-town, pint of ice cream before getting to business cleaning the gear. As I worked I chatted with the owner and staff, all pretty cool folks. They had gotten out of various "city jobs" to come do something closer to nature.
The team seems to have big plans for the place, including opening a restaurant.
