Thunderstorms kept beating the shelter until about midnight. During breakfast another round rolled in. I was torn on what to do but started packing anyway. By the time I was ready to leave the sun was peeking through the clouds.
The hiking today didn't have much elevation change. It did have a lot of bugs. I quickly donned my bug net and hiked with it all day.
More streams to ford along the way, with one that was moving fairly quickly after the previous night of rain. I ended up crossing upstream where the water was not as deep and quick.
I saw plenty more SOBO's. One pair were waiting for a food drop at a road crossing. The drops are very popular, which makes sense if you are newly minted hiker. The 100 mile wilderness is quite the undertaking for these newbies, like learning to swim in the deep end.
Arrived at my destination a little early: Antlers Campsite. It's on Jo-Mary Lake and came highly recommended. Candyman was there taking a break but hiked on.
I set up near the end of a peninsula and enjoyed being surrounded by the water and associated lake sounds.
